This rural elementary school wanted a piece of art that would celebrate its history and reflect the present times. There was a salt lick not to far from this school where the buffalo would come as they migrated. We chose the buffalo to reflect the history of the area, and built the sculpture primarily using farm related objects that the children brought to school. The structure of the finished buffalo was left natural without any protective coating to emulate the area's farms exposure to the weather and current economic conditions.
