This elementary school as a whole scored very poorly on state educational exams for many years. Through the principal's implementation of art as a stimulus for his students, the school prospered and was able to raise the bar for academic achievement. This feather was created to acknowledge their achievement and placed in front of the school, which was named after a historically important Native American chief from that area.
